Terms of use
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Acceptance
These terms govern the use of Folio, an online tool for writing, editing, sharing and presenting slides from text. By creating an account or using the service, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms and the Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Folio.
2. Account
To use the editor you need an account with a name, email and password. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian, and provide accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done with your account. If you notice unauthorized access, let us know using the contact below.
3. Your content
The text, themes, images and other materials you create or upload remain yours. You grant us a free, non-exclusive license limited to what is needed to store, process, display and back up that content, for the sole purpose of providing the service. You guarantee that you hold the necessary rights to everything you upload.
4. Sharing and Library
When you create a public link to a presentation, anyone with the link can view it until you make it private again. When you publish an item to the community Library, you allow other Folio users to see it, along with your name, and to make independent copies of it for their own projects. Unpublishing an item does not delete copies other users have already made.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Folio to publish or share content that is illegal, offensive, discriminatory, infringes third-party rights (including copyright and image rights) or is spam; nor to try to access other people's accounts or data, overload the service, exploit flaws or compromise its security.
6. Moderation
Any user can report Library items. We may remove published content and suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice, depending on the severity of the case.
7. Availability
Folio is provided free of charge and as is. We work to keep it available and secure, but the service may go through maintenance, interruptions and feature changes. We recommend keeping copies (for example, as PDF) of important presentations.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Folio is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits or data loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service, nor for content created and shared by users.
9. Termination
You can stop using Folio at any time and request the deletion of your account using the contact below. On deletion, your projects, presentations, images and Library items are erased.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email, and the date at the top of this page shows the version in force. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
